A replacement has been found for the ground floor, corner home of both Smoke’s Poutinerie and Jared’s Old Fashioned Hot Dogs & Hamburgers, now close to debuting a budget-priced “authentic Mexican” menu.
Q’rico Pollo is still finalizing its menu, but unlike the abbreviated opening hours of its burger slinging predecessor, will be open for lunch and dinner.
Yet to share many details, the owner contact information links back to Captain Poncho’s, a very popular Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, food truck that featured a similar menu for almost a decade.
The namesake chicken dishes are slow-roasted and served with a choice of two sides, including fried yucca or plantains. A whole chicken cut into quarters will be available to purchase.
Also on the way, fish or shrimp tacos, a quesadilla that can be made with Mexican sausage, burritos or bowls, empanadas, and the “house special” item, a “cheeseshell taco” created with a choice of protein and a queso shell.
