Fans of Diablo’s Cantina can cheer. The rowdy Mexican restaurant that used to sit at the front of the former Monte Carlo, now Park MGM has a new home in Las Vegas.
Starting in December, the restaurant takes over the Tacos & Tequila space at the Luxor. T&T, with its own menu of Mexican fare, closes on Nov. 25.
Diablo’s Cantina closed last year in November to make way for the massive Eataly going into the front of the Park MGM.
In its heyday, Diablo’s featured two levels of margaritas and people watching that extended well into the tequila-fueled evening. Devilish ladies stood outside the restaurant with pitchforks in hand to beckon in diners.
For those who didn’t want to stand in line to get into a nightclub, it offered an alternative to the club scene. Expect a December opening after a quick revamp.
Tacos & Tequila opened at the Luxor in 2008 under consulting chef Richard Sandoval and became best known for his mariachi brunch on the weekends.
