More Boca Park shake-ups as Huffman’s Fried Chicken has shuttered without a word, seven months after its ill-fated debut at the retail and dining hub.
Doomed from opening day, its “chicken recipes, burgers, and artisan pizzas” replaced the muddled Mixx Grill & Lounge concept from owner and operator JP Teresi, a former general manager at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas. Initial chef Bryan Ogden quickly departed the kitchen after six brief weeks. Huffman’s Fried Chicken had retained members of the Mixx Grill staff for its menu re-brand.
The large 9,000-square-foot space with patio was once occupied by Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant and sat next to Shane Stuart’s Panacea “Organic Plant-Based Juice Bar and Eatery,” currently counting down the days until it shutters later this month.
Also closing soon, XCYCLE Indoor Cycling, located a short walk from these two restaurants. Unconfirmed rumors suggest further closures on this Rampart Boulevard side of the complex will occur before the end of the year.
