A replacement has been found for the Old School Brewing Co. on the westside and the new owner intends to keep the tradition of creating and stocking local craft beer, alongside planned dishes from a very famous national brand.
Leo Falkensammer has taken over the 8,879-square-foot space, previously open around the clock and large enough to seat 80 inside the full-service gaming pub and an extra 200 in the restaurant. It will join Madhouse Coffee and Sen of Japan at the Desert Inn and Durango Commercial Center.
The new venture will continue the theme, pairing a restaurant with an on-site brew pub and take over the existing exterior silo.
Falkensammer also has early plans to serve up items from his Marie Callender’s pie menu. Locally, his company owns three Marie Callender’s Restaurant & Bakery outposts, on East Sahara Avenue, Rainbow Boulevard, and a West Sahara location, less than two miles from this brewery.
Vacant since November 2016, the space had been mothballed following extensive remodeling and remained fully functional. An estimated timetable for the arrival of the new pub has not been announced.
