Previously announced as debuting by this weekend, the all-new buffet and adjoining sports bar at Treasure Island has another revised opening date and both have settled on final names.
Updated on online hotel booking sites, the Corner Market Buffet now expects to open on Sept. 14 with proposed hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m daily.
A current description, also subject to change, promises “a global array of cuisine with live-action stations including barbecue, Asian, pasta sauté, a rustic pizza oven, salad station and a bakery.”
The 12,575-square-foot remodel had initially been allocated an estimated construction budget of $3,636,601.
Taking over the western corner of the buffet site, the Golden Circle Sports Bar has not posted a separate launch date, but is expected to be within a very similar timeframe. The bar has been hiring “model cocktail servers” and plans to feature its own dining menu.
Until the Corner Market opens, diners are being pointed to Gilley’s Saloon and its temporary $19.95 breakfast buffet available during the week from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. It features an omelet station, familiar cold and bakery choices, and hot choices including biscuits with country gravy, corn beef hash, French toast, and waffles.
A weekend champagne brunch served from 7 a.m. to noon is priced at $24.95. Both Gilley’s options are scheduled until Sept. 30 to cover for any extra construction delays.
