Dubbing the concept ”Mexican with mauitiude,” Maui Tacos has debuted its second mainland expansion after more than 25 years of success in Hawaii.
Created by Mark Ellman — a celebrity chef, restaurateur, and promoter of Hawaiian “Regional Cuisine” — the first “Ninth Island” outpost takes over an easy-to-spot corner at the Sprouts Retail Center, close to the intersection of Silverado Ranch and Maryland Parkway.
The counter service space promising a “vacation you can eat,” is decorated with surf boards and maps of the Hawaiian Islands.
On the menu, Hawaiian barbecue pork burritos, Baja grilled fish tacos, carne adobada enchiladas, mango salads, vegan and vegetarian options, and banana chingalinga for dessert. The chain is also well known for its salsa bar, offering flavors from ranging from “Hula Heat” to “Pineapple Passion.”
Maui Tacos, 1110 E. Silverado Ranch Blvd., Suite 120-130; 702-477-7008. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
