Restaurant specialists in one single dish, Patty’s Tamales has expanded from its original, three-year old Sunrise location and moved into the University Gardens retail center, across Maryland Parkway from UNLV.

Open long hours and keeping its commitment to catering events and family occasions, Patty’s’ 1,200-square-foot interior replaces the long-shuttered El Santaneco restaurant, two doors down from the post office. It joins fellow international options Stephano’s Greek & Mediterranean Grill, and the French-Vietnamese Mr Sandwich at the retail hub.

The succinct tamale menu mirrors the 5061 E. Sahara Ave. location, offering “not spicy” red chicken, or spicy options of red pork, green chicken, and cheese with peppers tamales, available for $2.25 each, $13.58 for six, and $27 for a dozen.

Patty’s Tamales, 4632 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 7, 702-521-9643. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
