One of the final pieces in the renovation of the Palms falls into place in April when the nightclub and pool party open. And it finally has a name.
Kaos brings a 73,000-square-foot dayclub and 29,000-square-foot nightclub, taking over the former Rain Nightclub and pool area of the westside resort that is going through a $690 million renovation.
British electronic trio Above & Beyond, hip-hop star Cardi B, rapper and producer G-Eazy, and deejays Kaskade and Skrillex already join the roster of exclusive residencies at Kaos
Design firm Friedmutter Group Las Vegas created the look of the multi-level dayclub with two main pools, a number of side pools, and 39 cabanas, many of which has their own private pools. Artist Damien Hirst’s 65-foot bronze sculpture “Demon with Bowl” sits in the center of one of the pools.
Other accoutrements of the 5,000 capacity venue include a massive retractable glass wall and door that separates the indoor and outdoor venues. The nightclub features a rotating 360-degree DJ booth that allows talent to play to both indoor and outdoor crowds, while the dayclub has its own separate entertainment stage. A seasonal dome enables the pool area to operate year-round.
The eastern wall of the Ivory Tower also got a makeover with what the Palms is calling the “city’s largest LED wall.” There, live shots of the party at both venues stream to those outside.
Rockwell Group created the look of the 29,000-square-foot nightclub with a theater-like setting. One cool thing? A logo that responds to the sound and energy of the nightclub.
When the Palms originally announced plans to open a nightclub and pool party, Tao Group was behind the project. Last year, Palms and Tao Group mutually decided to pull out of the deal.
