After decade as a restaurant pioneer in Centennial Hills, Leticia’s Mexican Cocina reluctantly shuttered earlier this month. But a replacement is already on the way and promising a spring debut.
Ben’zaa, a “Cantina de Oaxaca” will take over the prominent corner space on Farm Road, located at the entrance to The Village of Centennial Springs.
The cantina was created by the Wild Thyme Restaurant Group, operators of Hamptons at Tivoli Village and the Caribe Lounge at the Cancun Resort in the southeast.
Yet to reveal a full menu, the restaurant has shared it will offer “a modern approach on traditional Oaxacan-style culinary, using generations of authentic recipes.”
Earlier this month, Leticia’s chef and owner Leticia Mitchell told Eater Vegas “[T]he new landlords have not allotted us the opportunity with excessive terms & rate increases for our business and found someone else to replace us.” Mitchell also confirmed she is looking for a new location in Centennial. The cocina menu can now be found at Fiesta Henderson.
A short walk from Benz’aa, work has begun on creating another new dining debut at The Village, a built-from-scratch, seventh location for breakfast and lunch specialists Egg Works, now confirming its will open its 5,535-square-foot restaurant sometime during the third quarter.
