A Bakersfield, California, food truck turned casual restaurant has made the expansion to downtown Las Vegas, importing its menu of “fusion Sushi Sinaloense-Mexican food.”
Family-owned and created in 2014, Sushilon Sushi y Mariscos takes over the former Taqueria La Herradura on Charleston Boulevard at the Lafayette Square strip mall, a third of a mile from Maryland Parkway and the Huntridge Tavern.
Specializing in “unique and traditional sushi Sinaloa rolls,” plus “fresh Mexican seafood,” the dine-in or take-out menu features a collection of sushi rolls ranging in price from $8 to $15 including tempura, “tres quesos,” and bacon variants, plus a series of mariscos dishes such as the “Camarones Botaneros” and the $35 “Molcajete Chiltepin.”
Also available, fish and steak tacos, quesadillas, aguas frescas, and a kid’s menu.
Sushilon Sushi y Mariscos, 1436 E. Charleston Blvd., 702-205-4516. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., closing at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 9.30 p.m. on Sunday.
