Joining the rapidly growing dining scene in the Water Street District, a familiar local name is make a sizable investment for her next new restaurant.
Chanthy Walsh and her family have been owners and operators of the former Chinita Mexican Bar & Grill in Village Square since 2013 and Sonrisa Grill at Lake Las Vegas for more than a decade.
Now the owner of the single-story building at 147 S. Water St., Walsh intends to completely remodel the structure, adding a second floor and creating the future home of a locally focused restaurant and tavern.
Familia Supper Club plans to serve small Mexican and Asian dishes on the 6,400-square-foot lower floor, open to a larger outdoor seating area designed to be cooled, or heated throughout the year and home to a small stage for live entertainment and mariachi bands.
Upstairs has been set aside as an event space, featuring a large balcony and room enough for almost 200 people.
Located across from the Eldorado Casino, Familia Supper Club hopes to be completed within the next 10 months and provide views of the Vegas Golden Knights community ice arena, set to debut within the same time frame.
