Firefly now has a second location in Las Vegas, this time serving its menu of tapas in the former Goodwich space in the southwest. Owners John and Tabitha Simmons debut a 2,400-square-foot restaurant in a retail center that features Fukuburger, PT’s Pub, and the new Graffiti Bao.
The new location of Firefly Tapas Kitchen & Bar seats 80 diners with a sky light illuminating the space. A patio expands the dining options.
Firefly specializes in tapas and paellas meant to share. A salmon crudo, stuffed dates, patatas bravas, pulpo asado, camarones al ajillo, and albondigas make the menu, along with sangrias, mojitos, and other cocktails by the glass or in pitchers.
On the horizon, lunch, brunch, and late-night hours, as well as another location at The Bend being built north of Ikea.
Firefly at one time had four Las Vegas locations. It’s original space on Paradise Road now houses Tacos & Beer with a revamped Firefly sitting just north of that location. A second location in Henderson is now home to The Stove. And a third, near Peccole Ranch and Village Square, is now home to Nacho Daddy. Oscar’s Steakhouse previously housed a fourth location at the Plaza.
The Southern Nevada Health District closed the original Firefly on Paradise Road after a 2013 salmonella outbreak made 294 people ill. SNHD found chorizo to be the cause of the outbreak.
Firefly Tapas Kitchen & Bar, 7355 S. Buffalo Drive, 702-202-1339. Open from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
