Big plans for the former Western Cab Co. building on Main Street include a patio, offices, retail, and a new ground-floor restaurant.

To be called The Herbert, the mixed-use space sits at the intersection with Gass Avenue, across from the relocated Gamblers General Store and a few steps from El Zaguán Mexican Bistro in the opposite direction.

The two-story, 7,174-square-foot, L-shaped structure has yet to confirm its office tenants, but the second-floor occupants will gain exclusive access to a 1,295-square-foot roof deck.

Downstairs, the restaurant will offer outdoor seating, and an exterior design currently imagined to be a mural covering the entire southern side of the building.

Yet to reveal a a future chef, cuisine, or timetable for completing the large project, it is also unknown if the restaurant will adopt the new name of the building.
