A casual dining and family favorite for decades, Macayo Vegas shuttered both of its locations earlier this year and a replacement is rapidly moving closer to a debut inside its former home on the westside.
Limoncello Fresh Italian Kitchen will soon begin hiring at 8245 W. Sahara Avenue, a short distance from Cimmaron Road and Marie Callender’s. Built in 1996, the roomy 8,005-square-foot space conveniently offers 78 parking spaces.
Details of Limoncello’s menu, or future opening hours, have not been revealed, but the restaurant is pushing for a November opening.
The other Macayo’s site on Charleston Boulevard has yet to find a new tenant for the vacant downtown building that dates back to 1959.
Fans of the Macayo-style can head to Eddie’s Mexican Restaurant, opening soon at 9695 W. Flamingo Road and close to the intersection of the 215 and Flamingo Road. Staffed by displaced Mayaco employees and promising the “great food you love with a brand new flare,” the project began life as the Blue Macaw.
