Making a bold move from its established roots in Northern California, family-owned and operated Humboldt Sweets counts down to an official opening for what it calls “world-class baked goods and chocolates.”
The bakery and coffee shop at 670 S. Green Valley Pkwy. opens on Oct. 30, serving from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Wednesday through Sunday.
Praised by Guy Fieri on his Food Network TV show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Humboldt Sweets will roll out “The Guy Special,” comprised of both dishes profiled on the episode: a ham, cheddar, and green onion scone with homemade bacon gravy, plus large caramel pecan cinnamon rolls.
The bakery plans to unveil what it calls a “home like environment” at the new Coronado Canyons center. Beverages will be sourced from the Humboldt Bay Coffee Co., joining espresso drinks and mimosas.
Humboldt Sweets creates its own chocolates in-house. Other dishes promised for the large menu include quiche served with homemade toast and fresh fruit spreads, fruit scones, “naughty buns,” baked maple bars, mini cheesecakes, streusel coffee cakes, eclairs, parfaits, biscotti, chocolate dipped brownie bites, and shortbread cookies.
