COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGAS — The James Bond-inspired Vesper Bar, one of three cocktail venues to debut at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas when it opened back in 2010, closed for a major remodel of the 24-hour lounge located a few steps from the hotel lobby. Early filings estimate construction work alone will cost $800,000 to overhaul the space, including adding new carpet and furniture, replacing the pearl white bar top, and changing out the face of the bar. The resort pegs a late fall reopening. [Eater Vegas/Vital Vegas]
TOWN SQUARE — Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar, the part sports bar, part whiskey bar, and part family-friendly restaurant that opened in the former Pot Liquor space across from Yard House back in February, already closed. The restaurant, based in Springfield, Missouri, planned to open a second location in the Las Vegas area as well. [Vital Vegas]
SOUTHWEST — Plantone’s Italian Market, the Italian restaurant with a taste of the Jersey Shore and a menu of pizza, pasta, subs and salads in a family-friendly setting, closed. The restaurant originally opened in late 2016. [EaterWire]
