Downtown’s Golden Nugget makes it official; Chick-fil-A opens at the resort on Dec. 2, a fast turnaround for the purveyors of fried chicken sandwiches.

The 1,100-square-foot restaurant with seating for 62 diners plans to offers its normal roster of sandwiches, including breakfast versions, strips, salads, and various sides. Chick-fil-A plans to be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Chick-fil-A takes over existing, in-use casino space in the Carson Tower, a short distance from the Nugget’s 24-hour, five-year-old Claim Jumper. Next door, a Starbucks sits behind construction walls.

Yet to be revealed by the Golden Nugget, Landry’s own Saltgrass Steak House restaurant is also on the way, a 6,180-square-foot addition to the chain’s more than 80 locations, serving chicken, seafood, char-grilled beef, and 10-hour, slow roasted prime rib. The restaurant expanded to the Golden Nugget Laughlin back in 2010. It takes over the Grotto Italian restaurant space, which moves into the former Lillie’s Asian Cuisine location and reopens in 2020.

In Las Vegas, the resort already hosts the more upmarket Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse, a warmly lit dining fixture since 2006.
