It may be more than a year out, but already Virgin Hotel has a plush new lounge and restaurant in the works, conveniently placed to welcome guests and visitors to the new resort.
Virgin Hotel will completely close Paradise Road’s Hard Rock Hotel on Feb. 2, 2020, to spend at least eight months remodeling the 16.7-acre site, armed with a declared budget of $200 million.
While the new resort is keeping most of its upgrades under wraps, new paperwork filed to overhaul the porte-cochère and resort frontage also includes Commons Club, directly to the right of the main entrance.
The restaurant and lounge originally opened at the Virgin Hotels Chicago in 2015, and expanded to San Francisco and Dallas. All three Commons Clubs promote a globally inspired menu, “combining unexpected ingredients with bold flavors,” plus “a relaxed, yet elegant experience.”
Once customers walk through the hotel’s frosted gold metal entrance designed by the Rockwell Group, visitors can sit in the indoor club lounge, or opt for the outdoor space, including seating around a central fireplace.
The corner of Paradise and Harmon Avenue will also strip away the long-shuttered Hard Rock Cafe to create a large open area to accommodate valet parking and ride-share vehicles.
