The team behind the Bin 702 wine bar at downtown’s Container Park has expanded just over a mile to the southwest and debuted a new home for craft beers and pub grub on Charleston Boulevard in the Arts District.
Replacing Tacos Huevos and The Urban Lounge at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Art Way, 18Bin opens up to a large outdoor patio with a mismatched, rustic-meets-industrial interior design inside. Murals by local artist Trenton Larson, including a large tribute to the 1973 underground movie They Call Her One Eye, decorate the walls.
While the bar specializes in beer and spirits, the casual-dining menu features salads, soups. small plates of a clam bake, quail eggs in a blanket, the $12 Ropa Vieja Shepherd’s pie, plus a choice of artisanal cheese platters.
Sandwiches, a diner burger, and a ham and Gruyere creation come with house-made chips. Medium-sized plates for larger appetites include pan-roasted trout and the $24 cast iron seared flat iron steak, accompanied by black garlic mashed potatoes.
18Bin, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., Suite 150, 702-202-2484. Open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight and closing at 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
