A very popular Taiwanese-import has debuted its first Nevada expansion and is already welcoming long lines for its beverage and baked goods at Chinatown's Shanghai Plaza.
Still serving in a training mode with a temporary, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule, the ground floor 85C Bakery Cafe sits next door to another Taiwan-born chain, Sharetea, and in the same building as Kura Revolving Sushi Bar.
Following the grand opening opening weekend beginning December 6, the counter-service space will revert to its permanent 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. schedule, offering seating indoors and a handful of seats outside.
Operating more than 1,000 stores globally and a huge hit in California, 85C Bakery Cafe specializes in premium coffee and teas, including a range of sea salt options, European-, Danish-, Taiwan— and Japanese-style bread and pastries, and a very eye-catching range of whole cakes, or slices, pitched as available for “affordable prices.”
Inspired by the optimum temperature to serve its coffee, the 85C menu includes $3 blueberry cheesecake, Black Forest, chocolate cookie crumb, and strawberry cake slices, plus egg tarts, buns, brioche, and the $29 8-inch cakes, highlighted by mango creme brulee, sweet choco bear, tiramisu, and Red Velvet creations.
Still to come to the Spring Mountain Road Plaza, Pepper Lunch, Sul & Beans, SomiSomi, Tai 2 Chinese Sauerkraut Fish, and the China-based Miniso retail store.
85C Bakery Cafe, 4258 Spring Mountain Rd., #103, 702-247-4094. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
