First revealed back in April, one of the most intriguing debuts of 2020 could arrive in Chinatown by the end of January.
Mon Restaurant Group promises Kaiseki Sanga will launch in January, serving traditional Japanese multi-course meals at the Decatur Twain Shopping Center.
A veteran of Miyagawacho Suiren in Kyoto, known for its 10-dish lunch menus, acclaimed executive chef Munehiro Shimatani will oversee the Las Vegas kaiseki, joined by executive head chef Ken Hosoki of the Mon group’s own Kabuto Edomae Sushi, located less than a third of a mile away on Spring Mountain Road.
Chef Shimatani is frequently praised for his welcoming personality, creative presentations, and inventive dishes by diners at his Kyoto restaurant.
Still to announce details of future opening hours, renderings hint the 1,262-square-foot space at the intersection of Twain Avenue and Decatur Boulevard will be Kyoto-inspired and designed with a focus on the open plan, chef’s counter seating.
The highly successful Mon Restaurant Group still operates Monta Ramen, Sushi Mon, Monta Chaya, Ramen Kobo, Goyemon Sushi House, and Matcha Salon Chamon, “temporarily closed” since early this year.
