Chef Beni Velazquez returns with a passion project revealed over the summer that combines Asian fusion food with a pan-Latin casual menu on the eastside.
ChinaLatina launches on Wednesday, December 4, beginning its future opening hours of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 4865 S. Pecos Road.
Filling a compact 1,080 square feet at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road, next door to Pancho’s Vegan Tacos, ChinaLatina’s affordable menu includes miso pork lechon, or miso tofu ramen bowls, small plate dishes of Kung Pao shrimp tacos, adobo chicken, roasted sweet banana, and honey barbecue boneless ribs.
Chef’s specialty choices include crispy salt and pepper salmon, honey almond shrimp, spicy beef, and the stand-out dish of Latin garlic lobster served with a Spanish sherry soy garlic sauce.
Diners can also order salads and sandwiches, yuca fries, desserts of white chocolate bread pudding and Chinese cheesecake, or sit and drink smoothies and coffee sourced from Salt Lake City’s Good Mood Café.
