Continuing its important role as a first bricks and mortar base for ambitious new casual start-outs, The Sandy Crab has moved into the former home of Mother Falafel at the westside’s Campus Commons Food Court. The falafael concept made its successful leap to its own restaurant late last year.
The Sandy Crab has been catering and working festivals since 2014, with a specialty of “coral delights” and seafood favorites, earning a particular reputation for its daily prepared “Maryland style jumbo lump crab cakes,” available in mini, large, or slider sizes.
A half pound of snow crab legs are served with drawn butter, lemon, and a roll, and can be upgraded to any entree. Crab nachos, calamari, and po’boy shrimp sandwiches join shrimp buckets with fries, fish, and crab tacos and the “Big Catch,” a crispy white fish served with chips and tartar sauce made in house.
The Sandy Crab, Campus Commons Food Court, 6475 W. Charleston Blvd., 702-202-6732. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., closing at midnight on Friday and Saturday and opening later at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
