Southern California serves as the main inspiration for a new local burger restaurant already looking to expand to Northern Nevada.
Cali Burgers will soon take over an easy-to-spot former 24-hour Tortas El Rey, close to the intersection of Civic Center Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard. The drive-thru-only concept will provide 670 square feet of outdoor seating at the Fiesta Plaza retail center.
Recently hiring and promoting a future home in Reno, the menu will be built around the house “Cali Burger” sandwiches, “Cali wings,” asada fries, and a main attraction sure to create a buzz, the brand’s own “onion bombs” created with “fresh, medium size sweet onions, hand pressed and wedged, breaded and then fried to perfection, served with signature dipping sauces.”
Future opening hours and a exact opening day have yet to be announced.
