The 5,154-square-foot space at the World Market Center features a dedicated patio by the front entrance and rear access leading directly into the Las Vegas Design Center. Old Soul takes over the former home of “Latin chic” restaurant Mundo, which closed in 2015.
Young describes the restaurant as a “1919-1920 pre-Prohibition, elevated American classic kitchen.” She spent time shopping for antiques to fill the room and plays old movies on the wall.
The menu features dishes such as squid and prawns served with ancho chile and grilled sourdough toast, chopped beef with fried oysters, smoked trout, a collard greens and artichoke dip, chicken liver paté, and fire-roasted cauliflower to start. Fans rave about the meatloaf and braised short rib risotto, while pork chops and whole grilled branzino also make the entrees menu. Sides include Brussels sprouts with caramelized onions and apple wood smoked bacon, fried green tomatoes, and braised collard greens. Cherry pie, bread pudding, peach cobbler round out the desserts.
