A roster of whiskeys and American classic dishes arrives at Town Square. Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar brings part sports bar, part whiskey bar, and part family-friendly restaurant to the former Pot Liquor space across from Yard House. The company that originally opened in Springfield, Missouri, 13 years ago features a menu of American classics from executive chef Ralph Robinette.
Dishes include Buffalo chicken wontons with bleu cheese crumbles; the Big Whiskey barbecue craft burger topped with golden onion rings, bacon, and homemade honey whiskey barbecue sauce; and Sriracha steak street tacos with seasoned steak tips, shredded lettuce, red cabbage, black bean corn salsa and sriracha sour cream.
Diners can find gluten-friendly and vegan items, such as the Impossible Burger with vegan American cheese, red onion, lettuce, onion ring, and A1 aioli sauce on a vegan pretzel bun; Impossible Bolognese with corn rice pasta, ground Impossible Burger, and spicy marinara sauce topped with meatless bacon and vegan shredded parmesan; and the barbecue bacon chicken sandwich with a vegan chicken filet with vegan bacon, lettuce, and red onion, topped with Big Whiskey’s barbecue sauce and served on a vegan pretzel bun.
The desserts menu features Not Your Grandma’s Pecan Pie with salted caramel and a hint of bourbon whiskey and a banana whiskey foster with brown butter caramelized bananas, vanilla bean ice cream, nutmeg, and caramel sauce made from locally based Ambros Banana Whiskey.
The sports bar side of the restaurant features nods to the Vegas Golden Knights and future Las Vegas Raiders with the Fleury float with Jim Beam Black, Jim Beam Vanilla, cold brew, Barq’s Root Beer, and vanilla ice cream, or the Gruden glory with Jameson, RumChata, Guinness Irish Stout, and brewed coffee topped with whipped cream.
More than 150 whiskeys sit behind the bar, ranging from small batch bourbons and Irish single malts to rye and Canadian whiskeys and blended scotches. Whiskeys are available on tap or by the flight starting at $18.
