Binion’s Plans a New Revolving Bar; The Strat Has More Dining and Drinking on the Way

DOWNTOWNBinion’s Gambling Hall plans to add a new hotel and a saloon with a rotating bar. Whiskey Licker Up brings a full-service saloon with a huge rotating bar as its centerpiece, opening this summer. Binion’s already Whiskey Licker Bar at the front of the resort with a 20-seat patio under the Fremont Street Experience. The addition sits above the original. Hotel Apache plans to offer 81 rooms with vintage-style furnishings reminiscent of the original Hotel Apache that opened in 1932. Binion’s closed its 365-room tower in 2009. [Facebook]

STRATOSPHERE — The second tallest building west of the Mississippi River gets a rebrand, converting into simply The Strat. A renovation of the resort that started last year includes Strat Cafe & Wok, a 24-hour restaurant serving American and Chinese food; a renovation of Top of the World; and a new fast-food option, 108 Eats with panini and ice cream. LAS VEGASThree Square Food Bank plans to again hold the 13th Las Vegas Restaurant Week June 17-28. The 12-day event offers prix-fixe menus spanning breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner at price points ranging from $20 to $80. A fixed portion of the meal’s cost will directly support Three Square.
