DOWNTOWN — Binion’s Gambling Hall plans to add a new hotel and a saloon with a rotating bar. Whiskey Licker Up brings a full-service saloon with a huge rotating bar as its centerpiece, opening this summer. Binion’s already Whiskey Licker Bar at the front of the resort with a 20-seat patio under the Fremont Street Experience. The addition sits above the original. Hotel Apache plans to offer 81 rooms with vintage-style furnishings reminiscent of the original Hotel Apache that opened in 1932. Binion’s closed its 365-room tower in 2009. [Facebook]
STRATOSPHERE — The second tallest building west of the Mississippi River gets a rebrand, converting into simply The Strat. A renovation of the resort that started last year includes Strat Cafe & Wok, a 24-hour restaurant serving American and Chinese food; a renovation of Top of the World; and a new fast-food option, 108 Eats with panini and ice cream.
