Hazel Coffee & Cocktails debuts

Mandalay Bay lands a new bar that serves coffee by day and cocktails by night. Hazel Coffee & Cocktails gets its look from design house Bishop Pass, serving as the resort’s “living room” of sorts.

Live entertainment, craft cocktails, and daily selections of specialty coffees and tea make up the menu of this space that takes over the Orchid Lounge space, located near the hotel lobby, just off the casino floor.

Customers can sit on gold lounge sofas, green velvet chairs, or cobalt-blue Chesterfield banquettes. The space features jewel tones in deep blues, greens, and chartreuse with touches of brass, dark wood, and antique mirrors, much like a boutique hotel lobby. The bar with a marble top has chestnut leather armrests while a brass-shelved liquor display illuminated by matching brass fixtures sits behind it.

MGM Resorts International executive director of beverage Craig Schoettler created the cocktail menu with a roster of classics and modern interpretations. Manhattans, Old Fashioneds, martinis, and complementary bar snacks make the menu.

In the morning, the lounge serves as a coffee bar with specialty espresso beverages made with Lamill Coffee, as well as breakfast and lunch dishes such as parfaits, sandwiches, salads, and more.

Hazel Coffee & Cocktails, Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. S., 877-632-7700. Serves coffee from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, cocktails from Sunday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
