Revealed last June and originally planned to be open by the end of 2018, “toasted” sub sandwich chain Cheba Hut has set a date for its preview debut later this month, ahead of a grand opening.
Announcing “3/22/19 is our soft opening!!” on social media, the 3,000-square-foot casual space will replace The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at the Runnin’ Rebel Plaza, across Maryland Parkway from UNLV. The interior will feature a full bar and customers can take advantage of the existing outdoor patio.
Arriving in Las Vegas in June 2017, Cheba Hut first moved into the westside’s Sahara and Rainbow Center retail hub and expanded a year later close to the intersection of Durango Drive and Warm Springs Road. The eastside location will be its largest local restaurant.
Yet to announce opening hours, locally the restaurant has been serving daily from 10 a.m. to midnight.
On the future menu, four-, seven- and 12-inch “blunt” size toasted sandwiches, salads, “Treats,” “Cottonmouth Cures,” plus “munchies” including a hummus platter, French onion soup, and Rice Krispie bars.
