Inspired by the famed Roy’s Motel & Cafe of Amboy, California, and featuring the “secret recipe” sweet dressing of Pasadena’s Russell’s Famous Hamburgers, Roy’s Cafe has arrived in Henderson from Route 66.
Launched on Barstow’s Main Street early last year, Roy’s describes itself as a “Mexican-American family operated restaurant” splitting its hearty portion menu between traditional diner choices and a collection of Mexican favorites, “plate” meals, and molcajetes dishes.
Located at the Sunset Ridge Retail Center on Green Valley Parkway near Sunset Road, Roy’s takes over the roomy, 3,176-square-foot corner space vacated by the Bertolucci Brazilian Steakhouse last year.
Keeping the steakhouse's original bar and booth seating, Roy’s adopts a casual tone for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has added a distinctive dressing to its cheeseburgers, paying tribute to Russell’s Famous Hamburgers, a California institution since the 1930s.
Roy’s Cafe, 2895 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite A, Henderson; 702-436-0030. Open daily from 7 a.m to 9 p.m.
