Starbucks shuttered its high concept showcase store at the Grand Bazaar Shops last month, but in line of sight of its closed front entrance newcomer Golden Puffs is now serving up a menu of “sweet Greek bites.”

Taking over the former hot sauce outlet Light My Fire, the counter-service Golden Puffs specializes in customized loukoumades, self-described as “Greek doughnuts.”

Also on the menu, coffee, parfaits, plus a “Greek frappé, soft ice cream with a variety of dipping sauces and toppings, slush drinks and Greek yogurt with granola.”

Created with “leavened dough spooned into little balls which are then deep fried,” the loukoumades are available in individual servings of six doughnuts, or in larger portions to share.

Among the non-traditional upgrades, “raspberry swirl,” caramel, white chocolate, a “birthday cake” option and the “fried Oreo.”

Golden Puffs, Grand Bazaar Shops, 3615 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Suites 112-116, 702-413-7263. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m, closing at 2 a.m. from Thursday to Saturday.
