A wine-focused “urban lounge” is on its way to the Arts District, creating a compact hideaway inspired by fellow oenophiles.
Garagiste will take over the corner space at the intersection of California Avenue and Casino Center Boulevard, a short walk from Main Street and its under construction neighbors Crafthaus.
Named after the nonconformist micro-wineries that operate in the Bordeaux region of France, Garagiste will fill 2,157 square feet, adding 16 seats directly at the bar and 40 more throughout the lounge.
A private wine room is also in the works and outdoor seating on Casino Center Boulevard has been proposed. A kitchen is not part of the current plans.
Permission is also being sought to allow customers to buy bottles and take them home.
Designed by the Arts District’s own RAD studio, the team is currently behind the soon to debut Hardway 8 sports bar in Henderson.
An estimated opening date, or future hours for Garagiste have yet to be revealed.
