Keeping Track of All the Restaurants and Bars Headed to Chinatown That Matter

Chinatown, that stretch of road along Spring Mountain from the Strip to Rainbow Boulevard, bustles with construction activity, ready to reveal new restaurants and bars to Las Vegas.

Shanghai Plaza, the 57,566-square-foot retail hub at the corner of Spring Mountain and Arville Road, promises a growing roster of confirmed tenants with O.Onigiri and its folded onigiri and Japanese snacks just opening at the Asian-influenced strip mall.

In the meantime, a new kaiseki restaurant arrives in Chinatown soon — Kaiseki Sanga from the Mon Restaurant Group. Xiao Long Dumplings opened at Spring Mountain Road’s Chinatown Plaza, taking over the large, 6,815-square-foot Harbor Palace Seafood Restaurant, a former tenant for more than a dozen years on the eastern side of the retail center. Across the plaza, another veteran resident, Kapit Bahay Filipino Fast Food, closed in the spring of last year. The yet-to-be announced replacement, Kasumi-An, has not updated its progress. Hawai‘i’s Kono’s plans to open in Lotus by the end of the year. Pho Ga Tony Tony is expanding from Duluth and Norcross, Georgia, to Las Vegas’ Chinatown and importing a phở gà obsessed menu. Napal Baji brings Korean pocha, its street stall-inspired bites, as well as barbecue and bar food when it opens by the end of September.
