Originally promoting a February launch date, China’s “most popular noodle brand” will instead launch its first U.S. expansion later this month, importing a menu of “hearty and endless refillable bowls of noodle soup.”
Moving into Chinatown’s Shanghai Plaza and joining an impressive collection of new to Nevada casual dining choices, including Pepper Lunch, Yummy Rice, 85C Bakery Cafe, and the Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Dagu Rice is counting down to a debut on Sunday, April 21, at 11 a.m.
Previously announced opening hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the week and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday to Sunday.
The company specializes in soups prepared with a braised, bone-in, pork broth, served in a similar style to a hot pot.
On a previewed menu, “stone bowl” soup choices can be upgraded with braised beef stew, fresh shrimp or half chicken, “crossing the bridge” soups feature “mountain cliff mushrooms,” miso, and tomato ingredients, and rice bowls can add chicken cutlets, beef, or spicy chicken.
Appetizers priced between $3.99 and $6.99 are highlighted by sliced beef and ox tongue in Szechuan chili sauce, marinated spicy beef tendon and marinated “wood-ear mushroom.”
