Shanghai Plaza on Spring Mountain Road continues to lure an impressive number of casual-dining restaurants from Asia, but one new import has been curating its Vietnamese and French menu back in its home state of Minnesota.
Family run and also a veteran of “two restaurants in France,” Orchid Vietnamese is promising to be coming soon to the retail center, moving into space B-106.
Launching in White Bear Township, Minnesota, in 2008, a second Orchid Bar & Grill arrived in Arden Hills earlier this year. Both locations serve a large fusion menu that includes Chinese, Korean barbecue, and Thai dishes, while the Las Vegas expansion appears to be more focused on the cuisine of Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Yet to announce an opening date in Las Vegas, but well advanced in the construction phase, the Midwestern restaurants are both open for lunch and dinner, with daily happy hour deals.
Featuring a full bar, a children’s menu, and gluten-free or vegetarian options, previous “Orchid Specialties” include pan-fired sea bass, eggplant prepared with scallops, calamari, shrimp and ginger, and “Lúc Lác Beef” created with “cubed tenderloin beef, onions stir fried in oyster sauce, crispy potatoes and an egg.”
