Shoppers looking for a more adventurous quick and casual bite at downtown’s Las Vegas North Premium Outlets will soon be in luck, as two new arrivals prepare to introduce flavors usually missing from a food court menu at the mall.
Last year, Pastel de Nata 1881 debuted its “fresh baked Portuguese custard tarts” at an outdoor stand and now Matcha Stand Maiko is confirmed to soon be opening its own small outpost. The Japanese company’s shaved ice and matcha soft serve is already a hit on Jones Boulevard in Chinatown.
Next for the Outlet, Mr. Mango & Friends is expanding from the Meadowood Mall in Reno, bringing a menu based around juices, “fresh fruit bowls made right before your eyes,” plus elotes, a serving of Mexican street corn prepared on a stick, or in a cup.
Among the ingredients, mangoes, papayas, jicama, cucumber, watermelon and “beet & ginger.” The house specialty is the mango or pineapple “chamango,” created with “fresh squeezed lime with Tajin and chamoy, added fresh cut pieces of mango and a tamarindo straw.”
An estimated opening date has yet to be announced.
