California's aviation-themed Flights restaurant chain has been promising a summer debut for its move into the Miracle Mile Shops and right on schedule, company owner and CEO Alexander Hult has revealed a more specific timetable for touchdown.
Featuring a menu created by Kyle Kingrey, former executive chef at the Cosmopolitan’s Beauty & Essex, Hult’s fifth Flights restaurant is pushing for an estimated “June 29” opening date, replacing the shuttered Cheeseburger Las Vegas corner space and sitting next door to the V Theater at the mall.
Created in 2017 and now expanded to Campbell, Los Gatos, Burlingame, and Mountain View, California, the former San Jose Sharks professional hockey player is also dropping hints the interior design might include an aircraft frame, similar to the plane mounted above the dining room at its Burlingame location.
Featuring staff wearing custom, in-flight crew uniforms, Kingrey has begun upgrading the Flights menus, originally built around “smaller plates featuring three versions of each item.”
Already planned for Las Vegas, “street corn tostadas,” “smoked paprika salmon,” a “truffle grilled cheese,” and trio servings of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and margaritas including a “prickly pear” creation.
