The team behind Cafe Lola, the European-inspired coffee and tea lounge near Summerlin, has some big plans for the coming months.
First, Saint Honoré, dubbed “the very first couture doughnut and classic beignet shop in the U.S” opens in a 978-square-foot location at 9460 W. Flamingo Road and could debut by the end of May.
Co-owner Alexandra Lourdes says the shop plans to use its own recipes, made daily and “decorated like pieces of art.” Gluten-free and vegan doughnuts are among the options. “Our couture doughnut line is something you would find in a fine-dining restaurant, yet we want to make them accessible to all,” she says.
The beignets will be made fresh to order similar to those found in New Orleans.
Lourdes says the name, pronounced “saint on-er-ay,” is not only a pastry named for the French patron saint of bakers and pastry chefs, but is also one of the most famous shopping streets in Paris.
Lourdes, Lin Jerome, Michael Santos, and Stephen Jerome lead the new location.
Lourdes says that Cafe Lola plans a second location in Henderson at 10075 S. Eastern Ave., opening this summer. The original, which opened last year in May, features Instagram-worthy art to match the dishes. The European-inspired, white-walled and pink-accented venture features fresh flowers, marble table tops, a vintage pink telephone, and plenty more decorations to inspire social media snaps.
