Serving “World Famous Pastrami” at a corner spot in Alhambra since 1951, Southern California’s The Hat is bringing its first out-of-state expansion to Spring Valley.

Retro in style and original interior furnishings, The Hat serves its counter-service menu of burgers, dogs, and chili at 11 locations.

Yet to be announced, but confirmed by the new paperwork filed by the parent company, the built-from-scratch, 4,122-square-foot restaurant will also add an outdoor patio and drive-thru. Close to the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Sobb Avenue, it will sit across from Scooter's Pub and a short distance from Archi’s Thai Bistro.

Famed for its pastrami dip sandwiches, chili fries, and generous portions, a future debut date or opening hours have not been revealed, but the venue will include a version of its photogenic, chef’s toque topped signage.
