Revealed in March, new details shared by local designers RAD Studio unveil an early preview of the sophisticated plans for the Arts District’s new “urban lounge.”
Garagiste will move into the corner space at the intersection of California Avenue and Casino Casino Center Boulevard, upgrading the 2,157-square-foot wine bar with industrial-style accents. Roomy enough for 16 at the bar and 40 more in the lounge, the interior decor will include “warm woods, leathers juxtaposed with metal framed shelving.”
Behind glass walls, a private “tasting room,” and the bar’s rare wine inventory will be visible to the public. Outdoor seating on Casino Center has already been proposed.
Named after the micro-wineries originating in the Bordeaux region of France, Garagiste hopes the bar will also become a destination for oenophiles to mingle, sample, then purchase a bottle to take home.
