An under-the-radar replacement for Border Grill at the Forum Shops at Caesars is already promising to be “coming soon” to the space that’s been vacant for a year.
Frida Mexican Cuisine from Southern California will take over the ground-floor space, across from the huge plywood walls hiding construction work at Healthy True Food Kitchen and The Slanted Door.
Created by the Frimex Hospitality Group, the self-described “best Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles” promotes itself as an “ambassador to authentic, artisanal, and traditional Mexican cuisine” in Beverly Hills, Westwood, Torrance, Cerritos, and Sherman Oaks, California. Frimex also operates sibling casual restaurants Frida Tacos and Taco Libre.
The restaurant has not committed to a future opening date, but diners can look forward to a “gastronomic journey through Mexico” for lunch and dinner and a particular emphasis on its tequila menu. Frida schedules a Sunday mariachi brunch at three of its locations.
