A short walk from the highly photogenic dishes of recent arrival Baby Birds Cafe, another new casual dining option is headed to The Lakes later this month.
The new 100 Fires Caribbean Bistro Cafe will take over a space close to the entrance of the Lake Town Center retail center, a short distance from The King & I and Those Guys Pies.
“Salsa Sundays” accompanied by live music are already in the works for the restaurant that plans to be open daily from 6 a.m to 4 p.m.
On the preview menu, “small bites” of mariquitas, thin savory plantain chips, and the $12 “Flying Jerks,” jerk rub chicken wings with “pineapple dipping ranch.”
Sourdough bowls will be filled with garlic shrimp, “Caribbean chowder,” and tomato beef stew, or diners can order empanadas, made with ground beef, cauliflower, or chorizo, or the $4 “creamy shrimp and crab” choice dubbed “Viagra.”
Sandwich options include the $15 “Wanna Be” featuring “mojo portobellos and pickles zuchini,” and the $16 “El Beny,” prepared with “Cuban mojo slow roasted pork loin, black forest ham and farmers cheese.”
