Expanding from its self-described, “ultra-dive bar” origins Rockhouse is adding a more sophisticated element to ts nightlife scene at the the Grand Canal Shoppes.
The Oak Room Whiskey & Tequila Bar will take over a section of the 9,000-square-foot bar, specializing in an international inventory and “shaken,” or “stirred’ cocktails.
Located on the Strip-facing, upper-level entrance to the shopping mall, Rockhouse sits next to Carlo’s Bakery and across from Buddy V’s Ristorante. The bar moved to its current location in early 2013, forced to relocate when its home at the Imperial Palace was demolished to make way for The Linq resort.
Yet to reveal an estimated debut date, The Oak Room is advertising the same opening hours as Rockhouse.
On the early menu, 19 tequilas and more than two dozen whiskeys, plus creations including La Brulee Tourbe created with Johnnie Walker Red Blended Scotch, burnt sugar syrup, laphroaig mist and the Paloma Con Cerveza, featuring Patron Reposado tequila, fresh lime, agave, and grapefruit radler.
