Ice cream, shakes, sundaes, and more arrived at the northwest's Smoke Ranch Plaza, the only venue in the immediate area committed to serving its own homemade creations.

Replacing the short-lived Fu Man Dumpling House, recently closed due to the health of its chef and owner, Scooped N Baked takes over the 1,425-square-foot corner space at the intersection of Smoke Ranch and Rainbow Boulevard, a short walk from the pupusas at the San Salvador Restaurant.

On the early menu, servings of ice cream in $4.50 single, $6 double, or $7 triple scoop sizes. Brownies and cookies can be made into ice cream sandwiches, or customers can order a banana split, choice of sundae, and the “Garden Surprise,” topped with Oreo cookie crumbs and gummy worms.

Among the current ice cream flavors, rocky road, butter pecan, cherry chocolate chip, and pistachio, with new additions including strawberry cheesecake being added soon.

Scooped N Baked, 6679 Smoke Ranch Road. Open daily from noon to 8 p.m. and closing at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
