The Factory Kitchen, the Italian restaurant that opened in December at the Venetian, already had plans to open Sixth + Mill Pizzeria & Bar in the Grand Canal Shoppes. Now comes word that fans will have to wait until September for the Neapolitan-style pizzas, pastas, and seasonal plates from chef Angelo Auriana’s childhood in Italy.
Sixth + Mill replaces Otto Enoteca in the St. Mark’s Square high-pedestrian traffic section of the Grand Canal Shoppes.
The restaurant fills a substantial 5,042 square feet, with a total occupancy of 148 and a hefty budget of $2.1 million estimated for construction costs alone.
The pizzeria first opened in Downtown Los Angeles in April 2018 with a casual, Southern Italy-inspired menu from chef Auriana, headlined by Neapolitan-style pizzas, hard durum wheat pastas, shareable small plates, plus a few recipes from his father’s home cooking.
