Lasting 15 months at the Red Rock Resort, Scott Conant’s Masso Osteria shuttered in May, stripping the dining portfolio of a dedicated Italian menu.
Currently rushing to fill the void, Station Casinos has chosen to revive a name from its past to fill the 4,000-square-foot space.
Now hiring and on its way to installing new signs to reveal the change, Terra Rossa appears to be on track for a summer debut.
Launching with the resort in 2006, Terra Rossa closed in 2014 to eventually make way for Salute Trattoria Italiana. Terra Rossa’s sibling concept Terra Verde at Green Valley Ranch also disappeared the same year to become Bottiglia.
Tuscany-inspired and featuring a large open kitchen, the restaurant achieved a moment of national fame when Heather West, winner of Hell’s Kitchen’s second TV season, earned the position of senior chef as her competition prize.
The naming switcheroo, or any details of the future changes, have yet to be announced by Red Rock.
