First, Yonaka Modern Japanese closed last year and now its health-conscious and value-priced off-shoot Purple Potato has shut its doors with word a replacement is already on the way to Henderson.
Joe’s NY Pizza is hoping to be ready by the end of the summer at the Eastern Marketplace, not far from the intersection of St. Rose Parkway and Eastern Avenue and located next door to the recently shuttered Matcha House Tea & Sweets.
Taking over Purple Potato’s 1,353-square-foot corner spot, Joe’s NY Pizza will be importing its eastside menu found at Paradise and Harmon for more than a decade and popular with local workers and a steady stream of visitors to the Hard Rock Hotel across the street. Its second home for New York-style pizza faces Las Vegas Boulevard, close to the entrance to the Las Vegas South Premium Outlets.
Yet to announce if the Henderson space will keep its late-night hours found near the Strip, diners can expect a generous menu featuring stromboli, calzones, pasta dishes, chicken wings, and salads, plus its specialty pizzas including the GrandMa Pie, created with “Grandee mozzarella, grated parmesan, and marinara sauce,” the Hungarian chicken, a Spanish chorizo choice, and the award-winning white truffle mushroom.
