More than 10 months ago, Ohjah Japanese Steakhouse mounted a sign announcing its was “coming soon” to Centennial, and now new permits suggest the project is finally back on track.

Planned for the highly visible plot of land at the intersection of Oso Blanca Road and Durango Drive, Ohjah recently filed paperwork to begin moving earth, ready to transform one of the two remaining empty spaces at the Oso Blanca Pavilions retail center.

Originally imagined to be home to a 4,200-square-foot restaurant with a drive-thru, instead this will become Ohjah Steakhouse’s sixth expansion.

Created by chef Zhigang Wang back in 2010, a veteran of the Aladdin Hotel and The Orleans, Wang’s off-Strip restaurant found a following among locals, drawn to its sushi, hibachi grills, and teppanyaki tables.

Although Ohjah has not announced the new location, future diners should expect a minimum of six months until opening day and a menu including sushi, or sashimi specials, tempura and katsu entrees, cut and hand rolls, udon, and a long list of “signature rolls.”
