Unicorn Doughnuts Arrive in Spring Valley

The team behind Cafe Lola, the European-inspired coffee and tea lounge near Summerlin, now have unicorn doughnuts and beignets at their new shop in Spring Valley. Saint Honoré, dubbed “the very first couture doughnut and classic beignet shop in the U.S,” takes over a 978-square-foot location filled with the owners’ own recipes made daily and “decorated like pieces of art.” Gluten-free and vegan doughnuts are among the options. The beignets, similar to those found in New Orleans, are made as they’re ordered.

Co-owner Alexandra Lourdes says the name, pronounced “saint on-er-ay,” is not only a pastry named for the French patron saint of bakers and pastry chefs, but is also one of the most famous shopping streets in Paris.

Haute couture doughnuts include the Louis XIII lemon tart; Midnight in Paris with a S’mores doughnut; Queenie, the unicorn birthday cake; La Framboise with strawberry shortcake; the Champs Elysées with salted caramel and Nutella; Pont Alexandre with vanilla bean and candied pecan; Raspberry Beret; La Grande Dame with rose and champagne; Doughpoléon, a napoleon; Bonjour Mademoiselle, a tiramisu variety, The Audry with coconut cream pie; and the triple chocolate Le Chocolat. Classics flavors, beignets with add ons including salted caramel sauce and vanilla bean Anglaise, and four couture shakes make the menu. A vegan doughnut trio includes birthday cake, lemon vanilla rose, and Oreo, while gluten-free options feature lemon vanilla rose and blueberry.

Lourdes, Lin Jerome, Michael Santos, and Stephen Jerome lead the new location.
