A year in the making, Orlando, Florida’s Player 1 Video Game Bar is finally hiring and promising it will debut “very soon” on the eastside, welcoming gamers, cosplayers, and craft beer fans to an adults-only haven at its first out-of-state expansion.
Scheduled to eventually be serving around the clock, initial opening hours will be from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Sunrise City Plaza retail center, close to the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Karen Avenue.
On most days, the game bar will charge a cover for admission that will entitle customers to unlimited plays on its “rotating selection of classic arcade cabinets, as well as a large variety of consoles from every era.”
Recently securing its liquor license, players will be able to sample 50 beers on tap, more than 150 in bottles, plus more than 40 ciders, meads, sakes, and martini cocktails. Craft sodas and a draft root beer will also be available.
Future staffers will be wearing costumes inspired by classic games, including characters from “Street Fighter,” “Tomb Raider,” “Resident Evil,” and “Mario Bros.,” with customers encouraged to be creative with their own outfits.
